Sometimes, we hold firm.
We want a certain thing to happen so badly, we reach out toward one specific direction, because that is what our heart has chosen.
We put all our strength into it.
But the Arum lily moves in the opposite direction.
It is the path of reason, the one we are sometimes forced to take, even when it costs us.
So we move forward along that path, our hand still reaching out toward what we had to give up.
We move forward reluctantly, against our own heart.
